Reclaimed Refrigerant
When dealing with a number of refrigerants in the field it is inevitable that refrigerants may sometimes become mixed together during the recovery process. The ARI Standard for Fluorocarbon Refrigerants requires that refrigerants be 99.5% pure allowing for only a maximum of 0.5% of other refrigerants. RSI has developed a unique patented fractional distillation process which can separate a number of refrigerant mixtures to purities that exceed 99.5%.
RSI established Canada’s first refrigerant reclamation facility in 1993. By 1996, RSI had developed it’s own patented refrigerant reclamation and separation technology.
RSI’s unique patented reclamation technology incorporates a heat pump system to move the contaminated refrigerant through the process, eliminating the need to have a compressor in the contaminated refrigerant circuit. This reduces the oil content in the finished product and provides improved energy efficiency for the process. This process is capable of exceeding the ARI Standard for fluorocarbon refrigerants in a single pass.
