Cylinder Requalification
Transport Canada mandates that refrigerant recovery cylinders be requalified by hydrostatic testing every 5 years. The cylinder must be hydrostatically tested and the cylinder expansion measured before it can be certified safe for continued use.
Transport Canada mandates that Virgin refrigerant cylinders be requalified by external visual inspection every 10 years.
When cylinders are requalified they must be stamped with the new registration mark and date of requalification.
Refrigerant Services Inc. is a Transport Canada registered requalification center for both Hydro-static and External methods. We can requalify cylinders in all sizes up to and including 1000 Lb (454 kg) capacity.
Options include, cylinder re-painting, valve and accessory repair and or replacement.
The cost of requalification is much less than the cost of a replacement cylinder and will keep you legal and safe. Extending the life of these cylinders is also environmentally friendly.
